Hello all! I got the amazing opportunity to go see the Pro-Life movie titled "Unplanned" recently. This is a movie that I believe everyone needs to see because of the harsh realities of abortion that this movie uncovers. This film shows how abortion wrecks the human soul because of the human life that is being destroyed in the process. "Unplanned" tells the true story of Abby Johnson, former planned parenthood clinic director. During this movie you see the struggle that Abby goes through, especially once she realizes the lies that she told. The regret she feels is overwhelming and too hard to bear on her own. So she turns to her husband who in turn tells her to turn it over to God. Abby (portrayed by Ashley Bratcher) narrates the whole movie and explains how she made so many mistakes in her past but did not see the error of her ways until after seeing what actually happened. This movie also shows the incredible redemption that God has for all of us even when we sin. Abby learns this throughout her life as she experiences love, heartbreak, loss, pain, and so much more. It breaks my heart to see this happening in our world today. This film does an incredible job of showing that even when we as humans do make mistakes, there is forgiveness given to us by an amazing God. "Unplanned" tears apart the debate on abortion because if you go and see this movie your heart will break at how awful this practice is. I encourage you to go see this movie if you get the chance, please! Check out the trailer here.
Grace Unplugged has been my favorite movie for a long time, for more reasons than one. It had been a while since I had sat down and watched the whole thing but I stumbled upon this clip today and realized again why I love it. In my opinion, it is by far one of the best Christian films created, but this clip shows why. This scene with Grace and Quentin does not skirt around the issue and they definitely do not ignore the real problem with Christians today. Quentin says it perfectly and it is something that everyone struggles with at some point in their life: "Grace, why do you want this? Why do you want any of this? Because if you want it, just for yourself, there's always gonna be something missing. You could sell millions of albums, you could be bigger than Rene, that's not what really matters. ...You think maybe it's like he says? We know it, in our heads but do we really own it? Is Jesus Christ really who you're living for? 'Cause I don't think your problems are just with your dad, I think maybe you're fighting God. I mean, that was my story." This clip actually says the truth of why we struggle. I think that today a lot of Christian movies are cheesy and tend to be a little lower budget but in this movie, there is no shortage of power. Every single time that I play this clip or watch this part of the film, it hits me that 3/4 of the time, things don't turn out the way that we want them to because we are living for ourselves. We fight God on a daily basis at the drop of a hat, and we really shouldn't. I'm speaking from experience as well, sometimes this is something that we do in our subconscious and that is so dangerous that we don't even think about it before resisting God's plan for us. Brad J. Silverman (writer) makes some excellent points throughout the entire movie and I applaud him for writing such a powerful script that shows the truth behind why we do what we do. This movie is one that everyone needs to see, and I promise you will not be dissapointed. Starring AJ Michalka, Jamie Grace, Shawnee Smith, James Denton, and Kevin Pollak.
Hello everyone! Hope you all have been having a great week! Not too long ago, Danny Gokey released a song called "Haven't Seen It Yet" and recently revealed that he is coming out with a new album! To start off the album he has released the single titled, "New Day." Gokey has always had a passionate sound to his music and that has not changed. There is something rich, deep, and full of life that Gokey brings to the table especially with this new song. "New Day" talks about how every time that you wake up is a new day and a new chance to live your life the way that God wants you to. "Don't let it slip away, love hasn't give up on you" are just a few of the powerful lyrics that are saying don't let this new opportunity go to waste, show Jesus wherever you are. Keep an eye out for Gokey's new album "Haven't Seen It Yet" as well!
