Disappointment. Now that is a hard topic to unwrap so let's just start with the basics. God never told us that this life was going to be easy, in fact He clearly states in the Bible that it would be hard. This is something that nobody ever wants to admit going through but if I'm being completely honest like I always strive to be, everybody goes through it and it does not feel too great. From my experience though, God always has a reason for the tough things in life especially when it comes to disappointment. We disappoint Him on a DAILY basis and don't even blink an eye which is against His wishes for us. As humans we aren't ever going to get everything we want, that's crazy to even think we might; however, there are still things that we want desperately and don't get. Currently, I am still in the process of figuring out the reason for being disappointed but I think I might be beginning to understand. I think the main reason is because all of a sudden all I wanted to know was "Did I get the job? Did I get the job?" and I might have lost sight of what was really important and the question I should have been asking instead, "Does God want me to have this job?" I screwed up, it's true, but it is inevitable as humans. I have an amazing job waiting for me that I get the opportunity to take. God has a timing for everything, even down to the very last detail. So, just remember, when you get disappointed, don't focus on the negative aspects of why. Instead, think of the positive of why you didn't get this certain thing. Always tell yourself that God is in control, every minute of every day and if you focus on Him, your end game will never be a disappointment.
Five studio albums, five Dove award nominations, and a heart for God pretty much sums up Christian recording artist, Matthew West. Known for the songs The Motions, Broken Things, All In, More, and You Are Everything, West has dropped a track for the new motion picture "Unplanned", produced by PureFlix. The movie is the heartbreaking journey of Abby Johnson and you can see more about it here. West's new song is titled the same as the film and embodies the true heart of Abby's story in 3 minutes and 33 seconds. "I don't believe in accidents, miracles they don't just happen by chance, as long as my God holds the world in his hands, I know that there's no such thing as Unplanned." Those words make up the chorus to this song and should ring true in our ears and our hearts. God does not make accidents, everything that he does is for a reason because nothing is ever Unplanned. Here you can check out a music video that I created to go along with this incredibly powerful song.
