Zach Williams released powerful single, "There Was Jesus", back in October 2019 as a part of his album, "Rescue Story."
Today, his music video with award-winning Dolly Parton debuted and is nothing short of eloquent.
The song discusses the theme of through anything, Jesus is there. The first verse talks about trying to control your own life and walking without Jesus but, that even when we stray, He is there.
Jesus is always there for us and all we have to do is turn to Him. Life gets tough and sometimes that seems like the hardest thing to do, but I promise you, life will be a lot better if we turn back to Him. It won't always be easy, but it'll be worth it.
The video compiles many components that speak to many different walks of life.
Broken people in need of a Savior. We all fit that bill.
The visual element of Williams and Parton standing back to back is an interesting approach that actually helps the message of the song.
If you think about one of them as their past self, and the other as a present self, they never turn around to each other the entire video. That is a great representation that we don't want to look at our past selves. We want to forget shameful things we've done. While we shouldn't dwell on our past because once we ask for forgiveness, Jesus washes away that sin, that past is still a part of who we are. Remembering your past is a great way to share your testimony because there might be people out there going through now what you went through.
Our past makes our present selves better because we can look at the past and fix it now.
What an incredible way to show that through the cinematography of the video.

It's here! Josh Wilson's new single, "Revolutionary", is available today! Josh Wilson is a Christian singer/songwriter from El Dorado, Arkansas. He is known for songs such as "Ok", "Borrow (One Day At A Time)", "That Was Then, This Is Now", and many more.
"Revolutionary" is the culmination of phenomenal ideas, powerful vocals, and an instrumental track that is incomparable.
Wilson's vocals have a similar vibe to that of TobyMac in his "Tonight" days.
"Why does kindness seem revolutionary When did we let hate get so ordinary Let's turn it around, flip the script Judge slow, love quick God help us get revolutionary."
Wilson is posing the question why does kindness seem revolutionary? Which is a very valid question in today's society. The general first response of the world nowadays is hate and it shouldn't be. Hate should not be ordinary, it should be something that dissipates out of society. Kindness should always be our first response. Jesus acted/acts out of kindness and we should be living by His example.
This track explores this fact as well as bringing the importance of kindness back to the table.
"Revolutionary" is available now wherever music is sold and available to stream.
Check out our recent interview with Josh Wilson here.
Female hip hop artist and rapper Wande has officially made her Reach Records debut with the release of her highly-anticipated album Exit, available wherever music is streamed.
When speaking on the album, the First Lady of Reach Records says the message is simple, "Every exit is an entrance, when one door closes, God will always open another door.” It’s to bring hope and encourage young Christians to endure the journey of faith; a message that rings true through the current global pandemic of COVID-19.
The Nigerian-born and Texas-raised lyricist has already released two tracks from the EP, “Happy” and “Be The Light'' with more singles to follow. The two already fan-favorites, are currently being added to Hot AC and CHR Radio formats.
Earlier this week, Wande was mentioned for her collaboration on Courtnie Ramirez' her first #1 hit on Billboard's CHR Chart, as a featured artist on the Gotee Records artist's "Perfectly Loved" for her contribution on the remix. This is just one of the many accolades the 24-year-old artist has to her name at such a young age. Within her first year of being signed to Reach Records, she has been dubbed as a top Christian hip-hop rapper to know in 2019 by USA Today, and her music has appeared on ESPN, BET and VH1 and is the first female artist ever-signed by the male-dominated label.
When speaking about this accomplishment she says, “I’m glad I’ve been able to add some diversity to our space by being the first woman on our label, and I’m looking forward to the legacy I can leave behind and the doors it will open for future women.”
Wade’s second single from the project “Be The Light” was recently added to ESPN's WNBA 2020 Draft Promotion and is yet another accolade to add to the breakout artist’s name, as her song “Blessed Up” was featured in Lena Waithe’s BET Production “Twenties”, her single “IN LUV” was heard on VH1’s Love and Hip Hop, in addition to her tracks “No Cap”, “No Ceilings” and “Happy” earning features as ESPN’s Music of the Month in November 2019 and April 2020. Wande also collaborated with Hot CHR #1 Recording artist Courtnie Ramirez for the remix of her “Perfectly Love” which helped catapult the original single to the #1 spot.

Tasha Layton is a singer/songwriter from South Carolina. Layton's vocals are powerful and compelling with lyrics to match. The lyrics of all of Layton's songs have one thing in common, they all come from a place of vulnerability and honesty. Not only is she a singer/songwriter but has also been known to show her face at a certain music camp as a vocals teacher. Tasha Layton has had a crazy ride so far and God is not done with her yet. Below, she answers some questions about her faith journey and musical process.
MR: You’ve been a part of quite a few different amazing ministry opportunities, including the season you’re in right now of being a recording artist! What has the journey been like?
TL: It’s been a journey of faith for sure. In hindsight our paths can some look like they make sense but in the middle of walking those paths sometimes it doesn’t make sense. I’ve certainly walked through seasons where I wasn’t sure what the next step was or why I was where I was in that moment. I will say though, every part has been meaningful and useful to what I get to do now.
MR: All of your songs are vulnerable and personal. Which song thus far has been the easiest to write and the hardest and why?
TL: The easiest song to write was “Into the Sea.” The lyrics came from such a simple and honest place everything just flowed.
The hardest was “Safe Here.” We tried to finish it for so long and nothing was clicking... we had been working on a different song and realized the chorus of that song worked with the verses of “Safe Here.” We ended up combining the writers and the two songs. The product was what you hear now!
MR: You have recently signed to BEC Recordings, what does that mean in terms of new music?
TL: It just means I have a wonderful team rallying around to support the call of God on my life and the music. I am thankful for them and without them I wouldn’t have been able to put music out as consistently as I have this last season.
MR: “Into The Sea (It’s Gonna Be Ok)” was recently released and is so powerful lyrically/vocally/musically. What was the thought process going into this song, writing it, and recording it?
TL: I was just open to whatever needed to be written that day. I think all of the writers felt equally as open and honest, which is where great songs come from in my opinion. As far as recording, I simply gave my input and trusted the team. We ended up using my scratch vocal from that day because it captured the emotion of our time together writing it.
MR: What song have you written that is your favorite in terms of being personal and close to you?
TL: I love the song “Love Lifting Me” because it captures some special aspects of my journey with God. The verses specifically speak to some inner healing prayer I experienced during a time of counseling. The chorus is something straight from the Lord that I had been singing around the house to encourage myself. The song means a lot to me because of the personal nature as well as because it’s indicative of my style.
MR: What made you decide to go into music? Was it a choice at first or did you feel God leading you into the profession?
TL: I wanted to go into music for a long time but didn’t feel “good enough.” It was definitely God’s leading... I felt impressed I was just to “do it scared” whether I felt good enough or not.
MR: Random question to get to know you as a person...what is your favorite movie and why?
TL: I love the movie Shawshank Redemption. It’s so well written and the actors are stellar. In reference to “romcom” I’m a “Holiday” kind of girl.

GAWVI is a six-time Dove award winner and this new release, Heathen, aims to shift Christian culture. An artist on Reach Records, GAWVI is ruffling some feathers with third studio album, Heathen. The EDM/Hip Hop artist has been known to push boundaries, as shown by his previous two RIAA Certified Gold Records. Heathen is no different in this aspect as he aims to shift the Christian culture to deconstruct unhealthy cultural norms.
This album contains 17 tracks with many collaborations including Trip Lee, Israel Houghton, and many more.
“Heathen is the album I feel most confident and true to myself especially with all the confusion going on in the world,” shares GAWVI. “With this record, I wanted to say ‘hey world, I’ve been labeled as a heathen, not because I am a sinner or a bad person, but because I went against the ‘Christian culture mold’.” He continues, “Heathen actually means Ethnos in Greek, which stands for ethnicity and it also means gentiles. When it is used in the Bible, it is described as a person who was not Jewish or someone with a different cultural background. So it got me thinking, how did this word get lost in translation? And I realized, this is what happens to us as humans. At the beginning, God designed us to be who we are meant to be, yet we let labels influence us and shape our identity. So I want to embrace the word ‘heathen’, and do something different with the Christian culture, and let people know that it is okay to live outside of the norm. When someone says to me ‘what you are doing is not normal’, my response is ‘thank you’.“
GAWVI wishes to connect with his listeners through authenticity and transparency. He was inspired by the letters to the apostle Paul, and these songs nudge Christian listeners to examine how standards of acceptability may be limiting new voices from communicating God's grace to a world in need of a home.
Recorded in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and produced by GAWVI, he also released a short documentary where he dove deeper into the album and his desire to create a more accepting Christian culture.
GAWVI’S hit single “Fight for Me feat. Lecrae '' won Hip Hop Song of the Year at the 50th Annual Dove Awards in 2019. The song has generated over 204k song equivalents sold to date, 11M YouTube views on the music video and appeared on four viral 50 playlist: US Viral 50, Global Viral 50, Canada Viral 50 and Singapore Viral 50. GAWVI has been praised by the likes of Esquire, VIBE, Relevant, EDM Nations, CCM Mag and Magnetic Mag and more. GAWVI has received syncs with Netflix (“Flight for Me”, Locke & Key and “Cumbia” Ibiza), FOX (“Cumbia” Deputy) and ESPN (“High Note” and First Take programming). He has participated in a number of conferences including Rise, Catalyst, Orange, Camp Electric and Lumination. His debut LP, We Belong peaked at No. 7 on both the Billboard Top Dance/ Electronic Albums and Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. His debut EP Lost in Hue (2016), reached No. 2 on the Billboard Electronic/Dance chart, hit No. 1 on the iTunes Dance chart and has garnered nearly 2 million streams on Spotify. GAWVI has produced many of Reach Records top hits including RIAA Certified Gold “You Can’t Stop Me” by Andy Mineo, Trip Lee’s album “Rise” and Lecrae’s RIAA Certified Gold ``Anomaly”. He produced Lecrae’s “Nuthin” which was performed live on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”. GAWVI’s song “In The Water '' from his EP “Lost in Hue '' achieved No. 1 on Billboard’s CHR chart making him the only artist on Reach Records to do so without a feature. He has worked under the tutelage of Rodney Jerkins and Pharell.
