Mike Donehey, formerly of the Christian band Tenth Avenue North, debuted his first solo single apart from the group on May 28th of this year. The track, entitled "All Together" is an upbeat anthem featuring Donehey's strong vocals.
"No more playin' Mr. Nice Guy, I'm done pretending that I'm alright, I fake a laugh, keep acting upper class, like I've never had a struggle in my whole life" is how the track starts out and continues on a story throughout the whole song.
"All Together" is a single walks through the struggles of putting a smile on in every situation and always faking happiness. It delves into the power of the truth and brings up that we don't have to have it all together, but the world makes it look like we do. These lyrics show that message in a melodic way.
The track itself has a little bit of an eclectic sound at the beginning that sets this song apart from others in the CCM world. Later on in the song, Donehey asks if he is the only one that has gone through hard times or the only one going through doubts and hardships, knowing that that is not the case; but telling us that we have to tell the truth, knowing God's grace is there to come for us, when we admit that we need it.
"All Together" is available to stream now on Apple, Amazon, iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, and YouTube music. Coming soon to radio.
