Hey again! I know it's a little late in the night for a post but I can't wait any longer to write this post! For King And Country released their album "Burn The Ships" a little over an hour ago. Normally it would take me a while to gather my thoughts about the album but I've been researching and looking into this album and the heart behind it ever since they announced that they were releasing a new album. Some of you might have heard the song "Joy" which is a very popular single on the Christian charts right now with catchy, inspiring lyrics and an incredibly memorable music video. From the upbeat rock-solid beat of "Joy" to the slow, powerful ballad that is "God Only Knows." This album is so broken down with honesty and raw vocals that make it an album that is unforgettable. The band tackles some pretty hard subjects in this album because they know that these things are important to talk about. Talking about the song "God Only Knows", the band said the following "If you woke up feeling alone or broken hearted...here's a quick reminder to you that 'someone' sees your pain, and that 'someone' knows what you're going through...that there's a kind of love that that someone (God) only knows." To me, that is so amazing because no matter what any one of us is going through, God is there through it all. That is such a comforting thought to know that the love that God has for us is so powerful that we can't even comprehend how incredible it is. Luke Smallbone (band member) said that the song was about his decision to be baptized as an adult and how he felt a difference in his life when he publicly confessed his faith. The song "Need You More" is a very personal song to Luke and his wife Courtney because it's about their son who almost lost his life 2 months after he was born. That is so hard to think about, I can't even imagine how hard it was for them to keep going but they never lost hope that God had a plan for each and every one of them, no matter what. The thing that I love most about this album is how deep and personal it is. A lot of times music isn't really meant to be deep, the artists want you to feel good and happy, but not here. This band wants everyone that hears this album to be affected by it in some way and wants their music to mean something, they want to show Jesus in everything they do and that is very respectable. Keep doing amazing things, I know you've already touched lots of fans lives and I think that this album will touch many more.
