Austin French is a contemporary christian singer from Cordele, Georgia. French has a record deal with company Fair Trade Services. On his website he states that everything he does is for the glory of the Lord. That's awesome! French stated the following "At the end of the day, there are songs, productions, t-shirts, and a thousand small details that are a part of this journey, but the most important thing to me, and my reason for breathing, is to serve and worship my King and Savior, Jesus Christ. That's why I'm in this. And I hope that when people hear my music or come to my shows that they see and hear the Gospel in action, saving me currently and reaching out to their reality." To me, that is such a powerful statement and testimony. French is in a place where he influences a lot of people, in the music business, and people around the world who hear the songs he releases. He is choosing to use this outlet to share God's truth with the world, how incredible is that? So, one of his first singles released through Fair Trade Services is titled Freedom Hymn and is an incredible song about needing Jesus in our lives. French also said the following "Freedom Hymn is that song, for me, that I need to hear over and over again to really believe that I am free, I am free indeed." I think that what French is trying to convey in this statement is that when we have Jesus in our lives, we are truly free and this song can give us all a reminder that we are free with Jesus. Austin said that the song goes back a little ways for him because when he was in church as a little kid singing hymns, he would ask the pastor why they sang such old songs and he told him "Sometimes we need a hymn or a song, to say the words our heart wants to say but our words fail to." In this statement I think French's pastor is saying that sometimes words aren't strong enough to convey what we truly want to say. God gave us music to use as a way to worship Him and it is so amazing that we have music to do just that. The chorus of Freedom Hymn goes like this, "This is the sound of chains breaking, this is the beat of a heart changing, this is a song of a soul forgiven, this is my freedom hymn" That's saying that when we go to God and ask for forgiveness and honestly, truly mean it, we are truly free. This song is a great reminder that with Jesus, we're free. Music is such a powerful thing and is such a great gift from God! Thanks for reading and check out Freedom Hymn!
