Amanda Cook, known for her participation in Bethel Music, recently released a song
individually titled House on a Hill. This song is very different from other Christian music
heard on the radio these days. It is a very worship-filled song that is very much focused
on meditating on who God is and how important it is to be still, taken from the verse
Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God." "It's quiet in this house upon a hill. You
won't mind it, some things you can't know till you're still. In the silence where your
spinning thoughts slow down, in the stillness things have a way of working out." That is
just the opening verse to the song and even in those few words you can tell how
powerful and well crafted they are. They are words that truly reflect what we as followers
of Christ should be doing. The artist is 100% singing from the heart and I know at least
for me, when singing this song I truly worship the Lord because the lyrics are so open
and honest. What I love about this song is there is nothing else like it, it is a song that is
not influenced by the outside world. Check out the song here. Rating: 5/5 Must Listen!
