For King and Country is a Christian pop band comprised of two Australian brothers, Joel and Luke Smallbone. They have been active on the Christian music scene ever since 2007, based in Nashville. If they don't sound familiar, they might when you hear that they did background vocals for their older sister, Rebecca St. James (a very well known Christian musician). Their song Priceless was released in 2014 as a single, and later as the title track to a movie of the same name, created by them. It reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs Chart. To start off, something that the band said about the song was this, "Luke and I were backing up our elder sister Rebecca St. James at a women's conference and we stepped out on that stage that night and we just mentioned about how we feel ladies young and old deserve to be treated with the utmost respect and honor. You read through the scriptures as a whole, it's written into the DNA of what it means to be a Jesus follower." The brothers of For King and Country felt it important that people know this message. They followed up that statement with this, "Luke and I have really taken it upon ourselves to not only share that message with young ladies but also charge us equally as young men that it starts with us." What they are saying here is that women should be respected, but men should step up and realize that it is important and it starts with them. The chorus to the song says "I see you dressed in white, every wrong made right. I see a rose in bloom, at the sight of you oh, so priceless. Irreplaceable, Unmistakeable, Incomparable. Darling, it's beautiful, I see it all in you oh, so priceless." That's saying that no matter what the world says or does that everyone is priceless and worth so much in God's eyes. So, they wrote a song about it and they feel that it is one of the most important songs that they have ever written. "It's with a lot of heart and a lot of passion that we present to you, Priceless. " --Joel Smallbone. Check out the amazing single and watch the incredible movie if you get a chance.
