The song "This is Me" is a song written by lyricists Benj Pasek and Justin Paul from the new movie The Greatest Showman. It is a song about saying that everyone is their own person and that it's okay to be yourself. This is a beautiful song and the meaning is amazing. I wanna take a step back and look at it from a Christian perspective. The chorus of the song says, "When the sharpest words wanna cut me down. I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out. I am brave, I am bruised, I am who I'm meant to be, this is me." So, to look at these words from a Christian stance I think that those words are saying we're all broken and we all sin but God made us all individuals and He has the power to forgive us, if we ask for it. There's a part of the song that talks about not letting anyone break us down, and in this life, there will be persecution. God never said it would be easy to follow him, but in the midst of the persecution, we can't break down...we have to stand up for what we believe in, and He will never give us battles that we can't handle. But, we cannot handle anything on our own, we have to ask God for direction and guidance, just like Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me."
